I question myself all the time.
Especially when I am deep in debugging and working through issues that doubts creep in.
“Am I really cut out for this?”
“Why don’t I just do the easy way and sell courses like everyone else?”
Surely that would have been easier - and it’s been something I’m actually good at.
Doubts.
It’s especially bad when I see creators showing off their own personal Jarvis that talks and is as responsive as that version in Ironman.
It was smooth, capable, and lightning fast.
I see videos of creator clapping their hand, “saying wake up Jarvis”, and the agent comes alive, gives a report while showing windows moving around in the screen relevant to whatever’s being said.
OpenClaw shipping every day.
So sexy.
And today I heard that in the recent Anthropic’s Code With Claude developer keynote, the team is very excited about their next-gen “Infinite Context” model.
All so very…exciting.
While many of the news are blazing ahead, I find myself in a completely new territory.
I don’t have any technical background. Just 5 months ago I don’t even know what a “CLI” is.
Above all, I am only one man.
They have teams of developers with decades of experience.
“How am I gonna compete with that?”
But every time doubt creeps in, it vanishes just as quickly.
Those Jarvis creators? People who knows their stuff left comments saying those are pure scripted demo.
Few days ago the creator of OpenClaw published a blog post apologizing for all the bugs that was introduced in the bad update last week.
People are actually moving away from OpenClaw and into Hermes right now.
Anthropic’s recent “doubled rate limits” came at a caveat: Your 5-hour rate limits are doubled but your weekly rate limits stays the same.
It all goes to show: hype is just that - hype.
If you need to appeal to mass market, hype is important.
But if you want to attract people who will be loyal through thick and thin because they need something reliable and you are the person they can count on, then hype is not the way.
All these issues with the ‘sexy’ stuff that’s been making headlines - I’ve seen them a long time ago.
I chose not to use them because I recognized that reliability is more important than sexy.
If your business depends entirely on you being able to reach your agent, and your agent is unreachable half the time, that’s not something we can consider ‘reliable’.
Businesses don’t need sexy.
Businesses need boring and predictable processes.
That’s what I am about.
That’s my north star.
There are other signs too.
My buyers constantly showing support.
ACF members telling I have built something incredible (all veteran Claude users).
And the Overseer project that I’ve been working on the past 2 weeks…
I found out that OpenAI launched something similar 2 weeks ago (Symphony).
Matt Pocock launched his own answer to the same thing days later (Sandcastle).
Today OpenClaw has its own answer to long running orchestration now, too.
And in that “Code With Claude” developer keynote, Anthropic’s team were SAYING they are about to build solutions for agent orchestration and long-running tasks.
Which is exactly what Overseer is for.
A project I started before I even heard of “Matt Pocock”, “Symphony” or any such concepts.
I just had a problem, decided I want to do something about it, and I started building.
And right now I am about 90% there.
What this means to me is immense.
It means to me that I am not too far behind the big players.
Even serious developers.
Only 1-2 weeks behind.
Me.
A non-technical, zero-developer-background, self-learned “developer.”
2 weeks behind from the most popular AI app on earth.
To these signals I find myself vindicated thanks to AI.
Only a few years ago, this would have been completely impossible.
Last year, it finally became “possible.”
Today, it became “probable.”
I just need to trust in myself and my gut.
You just need to trust in yourself, that you CAN learn how to do this.
And that it is NOT too late…at all.
If that doesn’t convince you that this is the best time to start building, I don’t know what will.
