Why I stopped 'balancing' my areas of life...
Traditional goal-setting frameworks ask you to balance 8-12 life areas.
You're supposed to set goals for health, career, relationships, finances, spirituality, personal growth, family, contribution, and oh yeah - also fun.
You're supposed to make progress everywhere and keep all the plates spinning.
The problem with that is you spread yourself too thin.
Diluted focus is no focus at all.
Which was why I stopped using that approach three years ago.
Now I look for domino goals.
One to three goals that move everything else when you achieve them.
A business owner scales to $20K monthly = Financial stress drops, sleep improves, health follows, family time opens up.
A career transitioner lands a product role = Income rises, network expands, schedule allows presence with kids.
A teacher earns their master's degree = Salary jumps $15K, leadership doors open, postponed travel becomes possible.
One goal. Multiple areas shift.
That's the difference between storming multiple castles and finding the one castle that unlocks the others.
The challenge is identifying which goal is actually the domino.
Most people guess.
They pick what sounds impressive..
Or what they think they should want.
Then they spend a year pushing on goals that don't actually move their life forward.
Which is why I’d like to invite you to join my Envisioning Process this 16th December.
It’s a process that walks you through all life areas, then helps you consolidate to 1-3 domino goals that create the most movement.
Then it gives you an AI coach that remembers those goals and keeps you aligned all 365 days of your year.
The digital version opens today.
For only $27 you get the 45-minute training, complete implementation guide, AI coach setup, and lifetime access to all future updates.
Plus a virtual coffee call on December 16 where I'll share the key insights from the physical retreat I'm hosting this weekend.
If you're planning 2026, this is how you can keep every promise you make with yourself.
