Through sheer tenacity, he secured the appointment.
The day arrived and he drove to the prospect's house.
Turning round the corner he saw the guy unload groceries with his family.
By the time he parked his car, the prospect was already inside.
The grill gate was closed, but the inner wooden door was open.
He rang the bell.
The man came to the door with a look on his face.
When Thomas saw him through the grill he asked, “We have an appointment, right?”
"Yeah," the man replied.
“We have an appointment.”
Then shut the door in his face.
Thomas was stunned.
He walked away - then sat in his Honda City for 50 minutes with the engine off.
Rain was pouring all around him like a scene in K-drama.
He was so angry, yet so defeated, he didn't even have the energy to drive away.
He was seriously considering whether ending it would be easier than continuing.
Complete mental breakdown territory.
This was the darkest moment in his career.
