I'm writing this from the cruise ship Pianoland, departing from Port Klang.
For my yearly solo Envisioning Retreat.
Normally I sail with Royal Caribbean, but I didn't want to fly down to Singapore this time.
First impression: I won't be cruising with this line next year.
Great for budget, but nowhere near Royal Caribbean for beauty and comfort.
And the food isn't great.
I had my first meal an hour ago.
Honestly felt like chap-fan level.
(For those unfamiliar, chap-fan is Malaysian mixed rice from economy stalls. Decent food, nothing fancy.)
One of the buffet trays had a pile of boiled bok choy.
Like, just boiled bok choy.
Not even a sauce with that.
Might be worse than chap-fan.
And when I went to a cafe, I didn’t finish my Mango Tiramisu.
Tastes more like jelly than tiramisu.
But it’s all good because there’s secretly an upside to all this.
Why is it an upside?
Because it means I'm significantly less tempted to indulge and just focus on work.
When you think about people on cruises, you probably picture them having fun with all the amenities.
I just go to the quietest cafe onboard with my tablet and start working through my Envisioning Process.
Felix Tay is a weird cruiser.
I might - just might - even be able to stick to my carnivore diet the next few days.
I’ll be reflecting a lot and redoing all my 9 areas, then my Consolidated Goal(s).
And I’ll be sharing my insights with you along the way.
Talk soon.
