What Got Better
The AI coach experience is significantly improved.
I tightened the system prompt after Claude's recent updates made it feel dumber.
Added new techniques I've learned over the past few months.
The result: NEO now handles coaching conversations better than the first version.
I ran a test roleplay with ChatGPT playing an overwhelmed employee facing a performance review.
NEO stayed calm, asked one question at a time, never cornered the person, made them feel heard.
By the end, the "client" went from "I'm screwed" to having three concrete actions for the next day.
That's the experience we're aiming for.
Clarity, not chaos.
What's Currently Broken
Three things stopped working after recent updates:
Log button - Should summarize your conversation into a timestamped reflection. Works sometimes, breaks other times. Investigating.
Memory function - The panel where you teach NEO what to remember about you. I migrated from the card system to Claude's cleaner consolidated format. Something broke during migration.
UI positioning - Some elements shift around when they shouldn't. Minor but annoying.
What's New
Added features that should improve your experience once everything's stable:
Side panel access - You can now pull out the memory panel and knowledge base from any conversation. No more navigating to separate tabs.
Timestamp awareness - NEO now knows what day it is. This matters for two reasons:
First, when you mention deadlines, NEO can reference actual dates. "Finish by the 30th" instead of vague "in four days."
Second, if you leave a conversation hanging for a week, NEO will notice the gap and ask what happened instead of acting like you just stepped away for a minute.
Inherit function - Start fresh conversations without losing context. When conversations get long and burn through credits fast, click Inherit. NEO summarizes everything and picks up where you left off in a new thread.
Developer Situation
The old developer went unresponsive.
New developer is learning the architecture.
Takes time to understand what was built and how it works.
This means fixes will take longer than I'd like, but we're moving forward.
The Roadmap
We're at Phase 0.8 right now.
Phase 1 - Fix the core functions. Log, Memory, UI tweaks. Make sure you can do what you paid for.
Phase 2 - Add the custom GPT library. All my marketing CTPs (content, sales copy, offer docs) available as NEO tools you can subscribe to for a small monthly fee.
Phase 3 - Let you create your own version of NEO. Train it on your knowledge, tweak the system prompt, build what you need.
Target: Phase 2 by Q2 2026.
